Designed the AP Computer Science Principles course to be taught at the Madeira School, based off of Microsoft Make Code.

Lead the LMS task force that chose to Adopt Canvas as the school's LMS. Design the professional development for the implementation including beginning, intermediate, and advanced workshops, lunch and learns, individual sessions, and quick tip videos, guides, and shout-outs.


Project Management - Spring Professional Development Unconference Days

During the spring of 2021, I had the opportunity to develop and facilitate two unconference teaching and learning events. These #MADPD: Virtual Unconferences Utilized MS Teams to bring our community together for a day in January and one in March to discuss topics like creative collaboration, global citizenship, culturally responsive teaching, tech integration, and empowering the learner.

Instructional Designer - Distance Learning Summer course for Madeira Faculty


The five-week course was designed to teach Madeira Faculty best practices in online learning to help them successfully transfer in-person courses to online learning while maintaining the high standards associated with Madeira Classes.

Instructional Designer - VR in the Classroom Micro-Course


This micro-course is designed to teach classroom educators and educational technologists how to use virtual reality (VR) for engaging learners, collecting meaningful assessments, and building community. This micro-course will take approximately 2-3 hours to complete. This course was created for The ATLIS and is available to member schools.


Virtual Reality Assessments

In the Summer of 2017 the school purchased an HTC Vive Virtual Reality (VR) Gaming System to test Virtual reality for use at the school. During the 2017-2018 School year I’ve collaborated with teachers to use VR for assessments in their classrooms. AP Human Geography uses Google Earth VR for the final Assessment. Students take their classmates on tours of various parts of the works using vocabulary and concepts learned during the class. Students in French III are using the Google Earth for the assessment associated with the unit on the Environment. Each student is given an area of the world that is French speaking, and they have to take students on a cultural and environment tour of that area. This assessment, done completely in French and without notes is testing for conversational French, knowledge of vocabulary terms and research of the culture in French speaking countries. The next step in our VR journey is to develop a class for students to create their own VR modules and VR films using Samsung Gear Cameras.

Professional Development Blog

I created a shared internal Professional development blog. This blogs serves a dual purpose. It is the reporting mechanism for any person who receives professional development money. It also serves as a mechanism for collaboration and sharing of knowledge with our school community.

Introduction to Online Learning Video Presentation:

This Ignite-style presentation is about online learning. It is designed to speak to school board members, teachers, parents, and students. Online learning is a rigorous method of delivering educational content using the internet so that it creates a personalized anytime, anywhere environment for students and teachers.

Group Project Facilitator's Guide

This facilitator's guide was a collaborative effort designed to help educator's facilitate peer learning groups in their own classroom. The guide includes obstacles, best practices, and examples.

On-Site Mentoring Briefing Video

With the popularity of online learning growing in K-12 education, educators strive to find ways to improve student achievement, combat high attrition rates, and help make online classes more effective and engaging. This brief video explains the concept of the on-site mentor and how that program can improve the quality of online and blended learning classes. I created this video is an example of a whiteboard video.

Copyright and Fair Use Teaching Tool

I created these Copyright and Fair Use web pages to use as a teaching tool to help students and teachers know when and how to site sources. These pages have been shared with students in grades 9 through 12.

Blended Learning Workshop

The Personalized Learning Workshop is a two to three hour professional development workshop delivered in the style of blended learning. The goal of this workshop is to introduce blended learning as a method for personalizing learning to educators who may not be aware of this method of delivering educational content and to provide a deeper dive for educators already familiar with blended learning. The Personalized Learning Workshop is delivered using the blended learning model to give participants a taste of what blended learning feels like for personalizing courses. This workshop was developed during a collaboration with other GMU-BOLS students in the fall of 2017.


Infographics Are Everywhere

Infographics Are Everywhere is an example of an edit video. I created this video to introduce infographic projects. This video is part of the infographics resource LMS page that lives on my Educational Technology resources page. This video uses a combination of photographs, video, voice-over and music. It was edited with WeVideo.

Digital Principles and Design Instructional Unit

Digital Principles and Design was created and taught using the PowerSchool Learning LMS. PowerSchool is not available to view outside of the Madeira domain, therefore the course content has been exported and published in Canvas. The Canvas course is simply a collection of the artifacts from the original course and is not meant to viewed as a complete design. The image to right is a view of the courses PowerSchool Page.

The Study of Judaism Through Food Design Documents

The Study of Judaism Through Food is a full year course that I designed for the local Religious school where I volunteer. I taught this course for two hours each Sunday during the 2017-2018 school year to 7th grade students. The spreadsheet is the alignment table I used to create each day’s lesson plan. The word document is the mail merge of this alignment table. Mail merging the spreadsheet into word allows me to share the lesson plans with administrators and team leads in a much more user-friendly view.

Blended learning: Bridging the Gab between the Flexibility of Online and the Engagement of Face-to-Face Learning is a research project that spanned two semesters of the GMU-BOLS project, including fall 2017 and spring 2018. The project studies the engagement of students in a blended learning environment. It's call Digital Principles and Design and was taught during the spring of 2018.
